Program aims to strengthen digital defenses across West Virginia communities
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD) urges eligible state and local government agencies to apply for federal funding through the
State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP)
, which helps public agencies bolster their cybersecurity posture and protect critical infrastructure.
The grant program, administered by the
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
and the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
, is designed to help governments address cybersecurity risks and threats, improve resilience, and invest in new tools and training.
“Cybersecurity threats are an ever-growing concern for every level of government,” said WVEMD Director GE McCabe. “This funding gives agencies the resources they need to modernize systems, create and enhance cybersecurity plans, and better protect West Virginians’ data.”
Eligible applicants include state government agencies, counties, municipalities, and certain public entities that manage critical infrastructure or information systems.
Detailed program requirements, eligibility information and application guidance are available at
CISA.gov
.
WVEMD encourages potential applicants to explore the resources and apply as soon as possible. Investing in cybersecurity is critical to keeping West Virginia’s public services safe and reliable!
