dec_4884.pngOn July 22, 2025, President Donald Trump approved a major disaster declaration for Marion and Ohio Counties in West Virginia due to flooding over the weekend of June 14 - 15, 2025: West Virginia Severe Storms, Straight-line Winds, Flooding, Landslides, and Mudslides DR-4884-WV

How to Register for Assistance

Residents of Marion and Ohio counties whose primary residences were damaged by the floods of June 14 - 15, 2025, may be eligible to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance.

If you registered your damages through a state survey, you still need to register for FEMA Individual Assistance. The information from the state survey was used to help the damage assistance teams scope the extent of the damages. But residents in the designated counties must additionally apply for FEMA assistance and may receive help with expenses related to essential items, temporary housing, home repairs, and other needs because of the flooding.

There are four ways to apply:

  • Visit DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Download the FEMA App.
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.
    • Phone lines are open every day and help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service such as video relay service (VRS) or captioned telephone service, please provide FEMA with your number for that service.
  • Speak with someone in person.
    • In coordination with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD) and officials in Marion and Ohio counties, Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will open soon. At a Disaster Recovery Center, you can get help applying for federal assistance, update your application, and learn about other resources available.
