Emergency Management Division launches new software solution

System helps manage hazard mitigation grants

CHARLESTON, W.Va.— The West Virginia Emergency Management Division is launching a new management tool for handling federal disaster grants.

EMD's Hazard Mitigation Grants Program and Public Assistance grants section are jointly implementing the new West Virginia Emergency Management Grants Manager. This software system will help grantees manage projects, request and track reimbursements, and submit the necessary paperwork throughout the process.

Training has been developed for this new software system that is vital for grant subrecipients. This training covers several key topics:

  1. System Navigation: how to move through the grant management system and access desired information and tools.
  2. System Communication: how to send and access notifications throughout the system.
  3. Application Process: how to generate and submit an application for an active grant cycle.
  4. Reimbursement Requests: how to submit a request for reimbursement, and how to track the status of requests and payments.
  5. Reporting: how to compile, filter, sort, and export key data.
  6. System Support: how to access user guides and submit support tickets.

“The new grants management system is a valuable tool for EMD staff and grantees," said EMD Director GE McCabe. “The system makes the management process easier throughout the life of the grant, making projects more successful."

Eligible personnel are invited to attend the training by registering at https://wv.emgrants.com. Registration provides access to the training, which is expected to run approximately one hour.

For more information, eligible personnel can contact their project officer or email EMD Hazard Mitigation Grants Manager Kelli Batch: kelli.r.batch@wv.gov
