PUBLIC NOTICE: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hereby gives notice to the public of its intent to provide assistance to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from future disasters under FEMA-4517-DR-WV occurring from January 20, 2020 and continuing.
This notice applies to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) implemented under the authority of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 5121-5206.

FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides funding to state, local, tribal and territorial governments so they can rebuild in a way that reduces, or mitigates, future disaster losses in their communities.
This grant funding is available after a presidentially declared disaster. In this program, homeowners and businesses cannot apply for a grant. However a local community may apply for funding on their behalf.
